Today we celebrate our 200th destination. It's been a little over 3 years since the first code was written for the Duckwyn Travel Passport app. Now, we're adding several new destinations each month and will be approaching 250 destinations by year end.
Destination number 200 is Machu Picchu. This beautiful destination takes some work to get to but it's worth it.
Machu Picchu was built during the 15th century high above the Sacred Valley. The Incas abandoned it during the Spanish conquest. It remained relatively unknown for years until American historian, Hiram Bingham, helped it gain international attention in 1911. Today, many of the structures have been restored to give tourists a better idea of how they would have looked 500 years ago.
